Blackout blind

IKEA TRETUR Block-out Roller Blind

Cordless block-out roller blind in five widths for darker naps and early sunrises, with no hanging cord.

Why we picked it: Block-out fabric darkens the room for daytime naps and early sunrises. It is cordless with a soft-close roller, so no cord hangs near the cot; blind cords are a known strangulation risk. Comes in five widths and mounts inside or outside the window recess, or on the ceiling.
Skip it if: You need a custom size (it can't be cut), or you rent and can't drill; screws are not included. The fabric is synthetic (recycled polyester with a polyethylene inner layer) and can only be wiped clean.
