Freeze-dried fruit

NaturKidz Fruit Crispz Apple Sticks

Freeze-dried apple sticks with one ingredient, 100% New Zealand apples, and no added sugar, in 10g packs.

Why we picked it: One ingredient: 100% New Zealand apples, freeze-dried, no added sugar. With no grain in it at all, it's a genuinely rice-free and wheat-free snack, and the 10g pack is a sensible portion for a nappy-bag or school-bag snack. Jaya Grocer stocks it in the baby snacks aisle.
Skip it if: Your child is under 3: the brand's product page recommends these for 3 years plus. There is no gluten-free certification or factory statement on the brand page, so ask the brand before relying on it for coeliac disease. Freeze-dried fruit sticks to teeth, so serve it with a meal or water, not as a grazing snack.
