Wooden blocks
PlanToys 40 Unit Blocks – Pastel Series
Forty rubberwood blocks in six shapes and sizes, 18 pastel and 22 natural wood, for first towers and roads; 18 months+.
- Why we picked it
- Plain wooden blocks are about as open-ended as toys get, and this is a sensible first set: 40 pieces in six shapes, 22 left natural and 18 in soft pastels. It is rubberwood with organic pigments, water-based dyes and formaldehyde-free glue, made in Thailand and sold on PlanToys' own Malaysian store.
- Skip it if
- Your child is 3+ and building big: 40 pieces runs out fast, so look at PlanToys' larger 50 Unit Blocks (11 shapes, 2+). Under 18 months, nesting bowls or a simple stacker suit better.
