Straw therapy kit

TalkTools Original Straw Kit

Graded straws and lip blocks for TalkTools' twelve-stage Straw Hierarchy, for therapist-guided home practice.

Why we picked it: The core kit for TalkTools' Straw Hierarchy, part of Oral Placement Therapy (OPT). It is a graded set of straws with lip blocks and an instruction booklet, taking the child through twelve stages of lip, tongue and jaw practice. Worth having if your child's therapist uses this programme and wants you to practise at home.
Skip it if: No therapist is guiding progress through the stages, or your child's difficulty is with language (understanding and using words) rather than how they move their mouth. It is not dishwasher safe.
